My KVD Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks Collection

Variations of Lolita

L-R Vampira, Double Dare, Old Lolita, New Lolita

I don't have many liquid lipsticks from KVD but I went to Macquaire the other day and the Sephora there had soooo many Lolitas left I just had to purchase one. Finding Lolita in the city store on the other hand is near impossible.

However, upon swatching it I was really disappointed that it wasn't the same colour or formula. Weirdly, I actually prefer the older Lolita because it is more brown  and mauve which I prefer. That isn't to say I don't like the newer shade. I find the newer Lolita is more red toned.

I also have Double Dare which I bought online because I quite liked the swatches online and on the Sephora website. I really don't like this in real life- it's far too pink for me which is disappointing. If I had swatched this in store I don't think I would have purchased it. However if I pair this with a more brown lipstick, I can get away with it. I wouldn't wear this by itself though.

I also have Vampira which is a darker red/brown. I've heard the darker shades can be quite patchy and I unfortunately have to agree. Shame because it is a pretty colour.

This sounds like such a negative review which it honestly isn't. I do think the colours are pretty and the packaging is especially gorgeous. The lipsticks last for a decent 3-4 hours and the application is nicely opaque and dries quickly. I really want Bow n Arrow but it is simply out of stock.

Empties #1

I'm impressed that I have a few empties this month because I rarely finish products. I have two empty concealers which I have since restocked.

The Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer is a favourite of mine. I use the shade ivory and only use it for my under eyes. I like how it's light and radiant and hence perfect for my under eyes so I don't look as tired and old. I have since used the NYX dark circle concealer which I think hides my eye bags quite well. I have also since used a sample from IT comestics Bye Bye Under Eye in Neutral Medium which I really like.

I have also finished using the Maybelline Fit Me concealer in Sand. It is one of my first make-up products and my first ever concealer. I chose this because I heard rave reviews and similarities to the Nars concealer. I don't use it as often as I did back in my early make-up days but it is a nice concealer to cover up my spots.

I've almost finished the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Medium Brown and I've already repurchased it. It is a staple of mine and I use it everyday. I rave about this stuff.

I've also almost finished the Lush Tea Tree Water Toner. I use this all the time and I love the positive effects tea tree does to my oily skin. I haven't had many if not any breakouts for a while now and I always use this first when applying my makeup. This stuff does wonders.

Barry M Haul + Review

L-R Eat My Dust, Lap of Honour, Pit Stop

Wearing Pit Stop

L-R Almond, Mocha, Nightshade, Basecoat, Topcoat and Nail Hardener

Lip Paint in 37

Afterglow Light Bronzer

A few weeks ago, my wallet was stolen. I don't really know whether I lost it or it was stolen but I assume the latter just because I last used it to pay for food and I would have surely put it back in my bag. My bag was open when I was on the train (I know huge mistake).  This meant I had to seek a replacement photo card and whilst waiting for my father to get some food, I went to Big W and to my surprise, they stocked Barry M.

I've always seen blogposts and videos from British beauty gurus about Barry M nail polishes and so I couldn't resist buying a few gorgeous colours. They were all ranging between $8-10 AUD and there was a 30% sale when I first went and I'm really happy with the quality of these. These shades are right up my street from pastels to grey and brown. I'm also guilty for not using topcoats when applying nails- so I probably shouldn't complain when they chip so fast.

They apply really nicely- with one coat being opaque enough. I've applied two coats of Pit Stop and used in in conjunction with the basecoat/topcoat and I've worn it for about four days now and practically no chips in sight. Pit Stop is very similar to the shade Almond which I also really like because it varies from a lilac to a greyish brown. I'm totally digging it.

I also picked up a lipstick in black which I absolutely love and surprisingly, I don't think it looks too bad on me. I love the Kylie lipsticks in black such as Dead of Knight but I can't justify spending so much on a shade I probably won't wear very much (despite how beautiful it is).

I haven't seen many reviews about the bronzer but I absolutely love it and I've been using it on a daily basis. It comes in a huge pan and I love the colour of it. It's not too orange nor dark so I think it would be really suitable for more fair-skinned people.

I probably won't be buying too much from their make-up line but their nail polishes are really good. To be honest, I don't know if many Australians even know if Barry M is stocked here but I will be back to pick up some nail polishes soon.

First Thoughts on TheBalm

TheBalm had a 30% off sale recently and having heard amazing reviews about it (and also seeing tons of dupes on eBay and aliexpress), I really wanted to give some of them a go. I went to a David Jones counter in the city and it was practically empty. I ordered a Mary-Lou Manizer from their click & collect service which is awesome. It's basically keeping an item on hold for you via online and you can pop to a store within 30 days and pick it whenever you choose.

This came to around $20 and it comes in a huge pan and it is such a gorgeous highlighter. It has some yellow/golden tones to it which I think suits me. I've only had this for about a week now but I'm enjoying using this.

Next up I have a lipstick called Foxxy-Pout. This shade appealed to me because it was a dark nude but it also looked like a metallic lipstick. I am completely digging metallic lipsticks. I have Reign from Kylie Cosmetics and I absolutely adore it.

I don't like how Foxxy-Pout is sort of gritty and because of the minty smell I thought it was burning me.  Although I don't like the texture of this, I still think this is a pretty colour and it only came to about $13.

I also have a liquid lipstick from Meet Matt(e) Hughes in Loyal which is a gorgeous deep red. I love how it smells minty and not the usual sweet scent many liquid lipsticks give. It is so opaque and the application is beautiful. I can't really comment on the lasting power because I've only swatched it once. With it only being $20 and such wearable shades in this collection, I give it a 5/5.

Overall, I am really a huge fan of TheBalm. Their Australian prices are very decent and the quality is great. It does remind me a bit of Benefit because of the packaging but it is at a fraction of the price.
