Gig | Alt-J at Sydney Entertainment Centre 9/05/15

As exams are looming, I've had my last taste of freedom with Alt-J at Sydney Entertainment Centre and they were absolutely rocking. It was an absolute blast. Alt-J are one of my favourite bands so I did not mind the price and I definitely suggest you give them a listen if you haven't. (How good was the opening with Hunger of the Pine- literally one of my favourite songs). Also Asgeir was rocking before they came out. I've also realised that most of the time I'm in concerts I meet the same type of people:

1. annoying lads who stand behind me who seem to know all the lyrics and everything about the band. I remember this at San Cisco when I thought I had spit all over my hair as they were just screaming the lyrics

2. annoying tall guy who stands in front of me and so my aim for the night is to move so I can decently see. I successfully achieved this by standing behind a short lady. Oh the difficulties of being 5"3'.

3. girls who don't really know exactly how to have a good time by kind of just standing there and taking heaps and heaps of photos

And a new one

4. guy next to me who puts his hands in the air the whole night like he's shooting a basketball blocking my view of the lead singer for half the night

I can not really complain as I was about six rows from the stage and had a great night. I met a few new people. Music always brings people together doesn't it? Yes, I know that sounds cheesy but that is something I can't change.

The one thing that disappointed me was that I had completely forgotten about merch and walked straight away from the arena. I didn't even think about it. I could have got an Alt-J shirt or poster which could have been amazing except I opted out for a cheeseburger and two small fries. Why McDonalds? Sure that gave me happiness at the time but I don't think it would have given me the same long-lasting satisfaction that Alt-J merch could have given me. Oh well.

P.S. Kingsford McDonalds is simply stunning. I went the other day and you can make your burger online and their menu behind the counter is digital. Felt like I was in something futuristic. Makes me want to work at McDonalds again.... I kid.

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend.
